Mangrove Forest

Mangrove trees form a long, wide forest cutting through the marsh. Their exposed roots dig deep into the fertile soil beneath the water’s surface, making them immobile and strong. The roots provide excellent hiding holes for water creatures such as fish, and what is exposed above-ground is utilized as shelter by all manner of rodents, birds, and small mammals. Alligators patrol the surrounding waters, snapping up any creature that unwisely leaves the shelter of the trees. The forest provides shelter from the elements as well, and though the trees are not packed closely together, a vast amount of shade can be experienced beneath their branches.
